Inga Davis Joins Research Strategies Australia

Research Strategies Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of our new Principal, Inga Davis. Inga has worked in the higher education sector for 17 years, the last 10 as a senior executive. Her most recent appointment was as the Chief Executive, External Relations at the University of Adelaide and prior to that she held various roles at the University of Canberra including as Director of Advancement, Marketing and Communications; Director of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office and member of University Council.  With a strong understanding of all facets of university operations; research, academic, community and commercial; Inga has particular expertise in development and delivery of university strategy, to promote research and academic engagement, university commercial interests, stakeholder engagement, philanthropy and strategic communications.

Inga has led major strategic initiatives including development of cultural precinct strategy, complex stakeholder engagement (eg institutional merger, ICAC inquiry, university strategic plans, COVID-19), university re-brand and marketing automation, institutional website and intranet re-development and government and industry engagement strategies.  As Principal, Research Strategies Australia, Inga’s work with clients includes:

Development of University strategy

  • industry and government engagement (aligned with media strategy)

  • project based strategic communications (eg industrial relations reforms, major change)

About us

Research Strategies Australia was established in 2014 by Dr Tim Cahill. Tim has over 15 years experience working with stakeholders in Australia’s R&D sector. He has held executive roles in the public, private, non-profit and higher education sectors, including Director of R&D Advisory and Higher Education for KPMG Australia, Director of Research Evaluation at the Australian Research Council and Chief Data Scientist at The Conversation Media Group.

Tim is regarded internationally as an expert in research strategy, evaluation, higher education policy, scientometrics and research commercialisation. He is currently a Board Member of the Chemistry and Polymers Manufacturing Industry Network, serves on the Australia FAIR Access Working Group, and is an Honorary Fellow of the Research for Education Impact Research Centre at Deakin University.
